WORKSHOPS

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS, PRESENTATIONS, WALKS, STUDIO VISITS

I design and lead creative and collaborative workshops highlighting the liberating force of creative expression and innovative play.

I tailor my classes to the needs of the folks I’m working with.

I work closely with individuals and groups to dissolve creative blocks and foster joy and exploration.

My true loves are visual poetry, text based visual art, collage, zines and zine history, mail-art, found paper ephemera, kids art, folk art, comics and pop subcultures, rock history, memory, collections and collecting.

We can meet as collaborators, fans of art,  creative investigators or even to look over, share and discuss collections.

MAKE A FUNNY FACE

creating collaborative funny face drawings

We’ll draw and pass ourselves into a collaborative mess of funny faces. Everyone draw an eyebrow, Ok, pass your drawing to the left! Until we all create unique, hilarious and very silly faces together.

All Ages / Parents & Kids / Adults / Seniors

Participants capped at eight per session.

All Materials Provided

1.5 hrs

Ballooning To Safety

creating mixed media explorations

This is the safe space for us but not for the magazines. We’ll use collage, drawing, stamping of text and image to create the expressive freedom we require. Our efforts will be janky, wonky, awful and funny.

All Ages / Parents & Kids / Adults / Seniors

Participants capped at eight per session

All Materials Provided

1.5 hrs

WITH EVERY TOOL WE HAVE

Building Men & Monsters

With the aim of creative collaboration and connection, we will gather a group of men (self-identified / socially identified) to explore expression via guided drawing, acknowledging the monsters within ourselves and the monsters that extend from us into the world.

Join me in an intimate and intimidating two hour round table workshop where pencils will glide across papers with equal measures of humour and pain, revealing and releasing communally created monsters - monsters safely contained on the page.

CW discussion of violence, abuse, grief, toxicity, sexism, racism, homophobia

Adults

Participants capped at 4 per session.

All Materials Provided

2 hrs

PRESENTATIONS

Encountering Collections

I am delighted to showcase pieces from my many collections of found paper ephemera in diverse thematic categories. Postcards, found photos, matchbooks, flyers, paper scraps, street art can be shared directly in intimate gatherings or as slideshow presentations. I speak on the history of these items as cultural traces, as personal touchstones and as objects of beauty.

Participants TBD no cap

Participation Fee TBD private events OR public presentations

STUDIO VISITS & WALKS

CREATIVE BLOCK STUDIO VISITS

I’d love to visit your studio and see what you’ve got going and what you don’t got going! I’m sure I can help you to unravel the tangle and get those creative sparks flying. Collaborative one-on-one creative play on your turf. You can also give me a virtual tour and we can work together in public if that’s preferred. Preliminary Zoom introduction to establish needs.

AROUND THE BLOCK

Catch me out and about as we sift through litter and street art, navigating through streets and alleys leaving our own traces and reimagining the city as a creative laboratory. Neighbourhood Storytelling will occur.
